December 3, 2007

                        The Town Council of the Town of Fowler met in the Town Hall, Fowler, Indiana, on the 3rd day of December 2007 at the hour of 4:30 P.M., for a regular meeting pursuant to call in accordance with the rules of the Council. The meeting was called to order by Steve Rettig, who presided. On call of the roll the members of the Council were shown to be present or absent as follows:

PRESENT: Patrick Claire, Nicholas Finley, Gerald Parker, Thomas Sarault

and Stephen Rettig.

ABSENT: NONE

Nick Finley motioned to accept the minutes as reviewed and Tom Sarault seconded the motion. The motion passed.

            The clerk treasurer gave a report of the successful Christmas Stroll held on December 1st. Jessica Morin did an excellent job of organizing the event. The budget estimate presented was $1,458.95. The actual costs came to $1,351.45, generous donations totaling $900, resulting in an actual cost to the town of $451.45. The carriage gave rides to almost 400 people free of charge. Santa visited with 150 kids at the theater. The Chamber of Commerce donated the free movie during the day.

            Discussion concerning the former Fowler Elementary School was tabled until the school corporation makes a decision on what is to be done.

A motion to pay all claims by Nick Finley and second by Gerry Parker was approved. A motion to approve the payroll claims and second by Pat Claire was approved.

            There being no further business presented to the meeting, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting thereupon adjourned.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

            The executive session was called to order with all council members present along with council members elect, John Berry, Linda Brouillette and Carole Hoff.

            Discussion on the salary ordinance for 2008 was tabled until Tom Sarault can put a plan together.

            Discussion on a town manager's position was tabled until January 2008.

            Review of Police Chief resumes resulted in a selection to bring in five applicants for interviews. A date will be set for interviews next week.

            The meeting adjourned.
