The Town Council of the Town of Fowler met in the Town Hall, Fowler, Indiana, on the 2nd day of January 2007 at the hour of 4:30 P.M., for a regular meeting pursuant to call in accordance with the rules of the Council. The meeting was called to order by Steve Rettig, who presided. On call of the roll the members of the Council were shown to be present or absent as follows: Patrick Claire, Nicholas Finley, Gerald Parker, Thomas Sarault and Stephen Rettig. ABSENT: NONE Nick Finley motioned to accept the minutes as reviewed and Pat Claire seconded the motion. The motion passed. Nick Finley motioned for Steve Rettig to continue being president of the council. Pat Claire motioned for Gerry Parker to become president. Tom Sarault seconded the motion for Steve Rettig. The second nomination died for a lack of a second. The motion passed for Steve Rettig to continue as president. Resolution 2007-1, a declaration of meeting times, dates, promotional expenses and investing was motioned to accept by Pat Claire and second by Nick Finley. The motion passed. Resolution 2007-2, guidelines for the town's VISA credit card were motioned to accept by Tom Sarault and seconded by Gerry Parker. The motion passed. Pat Claire motioned to accept the 2007 Fire Agreement and Gerry Parker seconded the motion. The motion passed. The agreement remained the same as last year. The department liaisons were appointed as follows: Park and Street Pat Claire Police Gerry Parker Sewer Steve Rettig Fire Nick Finley Water Tom Sarault The department heads were motioned and seconded by the following: Street Department John Budreau Pat Claire - Gerry Parker Water Department Dennis Stinson Nick Finley - Pat Claire Sewer Department Alan Leuck Gerry Parker - Nick Finley Police Department Mike Paxton Nick Finley - Tom Sarault All motions passed Dave Eberhardt was appointed to the Alcoholic Beverage Commission Board with a motion from Nick Finley and second by Pat Claire. The motion passed. Gerry Parker was appointed as council represent to K-IRPC. Nick Finley motioned and Tom Sarault seconded the motion. The motion passed. There was discussion pertaining to customer parking in the 100 block of North Adams Avenue. It was decided that it was a police matter and will be taken care of by the police chief. Pat Claire stated that the sewer department has had the storm line cleaned between the 500 and 600 blocks of Park Place and Park Avenue. A Fowler resident inquired about acquiring a highway access off US 52 in town. The street superintendent and town attorney will look into the possibility. A motion to pay all claims by Pat Claire and second by Nick Finley was approved. There being no further business presented to the meeting, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting thereupon adjourned. |
