The Town Council of the Town of Fowler met in the Town Hall, Fowler, Indiana, on the 19th day of March 2007 at the hour of 4:30 P.M., for a regular meeting pursuant to call in accordance with the rules of the Council. The meeting was called to order by Steve Rettig, who presided. On call of the roll the members of the Council were shown to be present or absent as follows: PRESENT: Patrick Claire, Nicholas Finley, Thomas Sarault and Stephen Rettig. ABSENT: Gerald Parker Pat Claire motioned to accept the minutes as reviewed and Nick Finley seconded the motion. The motion passed. Jessica Morin, the new billing clerk and acting Community Activity Director, presented a budget for the Christmas Stroll that will be held December 1st downtown Fowler. A cost of $1,458.95 included the carriage ride, Santa, advertising and bags. Many businesses have donated money to this worthy cause. Santa will be arriving by carriage to the Fowler Theater to help with the lighting of the new marquee. The theater will have a free show sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Most of the businesses are having one day specials to commemorate the day. Tom Sarault motioned that the town pay for the difference between the budget and donations. Nick Finley seconded the motion. The motion passed. A town supervisor position was discussed. Members of the council thought that creating this position would alleviate some of the day to day decisions that the liaisons were involved with. This issue has been tabled until the new council can have input. Alan Leuck, Sewer Superintendent, presented an estimate for $7,745 to have two new pumps ordered for the Lingle Avenue lift station from FJF Services. Pat Claire motioned and Tom Sarault seconded the motion. The motion passed. Delores Anstett had an enormous read on her water bill. The sewer had been adjusted. Pat Claire motioned that the water amount be adjusted from 60 units to 3 units. Tom Sarault seconded the motion. The motion passed. The meter will be checked to make sure that it is working properly. Tom Sarault motioned to pay all claims except the Police Department Services Inc. for the installation of a new ICOP video camera. Nick seconded the motion. Pat Claire motioned to accept the payroll claims. Tom Sarault seconded the motion. The motion passed. There being no further business presented to the meeting, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting thereupon adjourned. |
