TOWN ORGANIZATION
Our regular board meeting is normally held every 1st and 3rd Monday at 4:30pm (unless changed as advertised in the Benton Review) at the Town Hall, located on 5th Street, next to the bowling alley. For further information on how to contact the Council, please click here. PUBLIC SAFETY Fowler employs three full time, and one part time, Police Officers for residents' security and traffic control. The Town enjoys a consistency low crime rate, and provides 24 hour protection and with incidences well below national and state averages. Fowler has dispatch capability through the Benton County Sheriffs Department, and also participates in area 911 service for ready backup by county and state law enforcement personnel. Soon, the Town’s Municipal Code and current ordinances will be fully accessible through this website. Concerns, suggestions, questions, or requests for assistance may be submitted via e-mail to the Chief of Police, where your input will be treated confidentially.
The Fowler/Center Township fire department is a volunteer force of 24 personnel. They are equipped, trained, and fully certified with completely modern equipment. The Fowler/Center Township department works in cooperation with other area fire departments for mutual support and backup in the town and surrounding countryside. Citizens are afforded an ISO rating of 6.

LOCAL PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION

MAJOR HIGHWAYS U.S. Highway 52, a major federal thoroughfare, runs through the Town of Fowler, heading South to Lafayette and Purdue University. State Highway 55 and 18 also go through our town. US 41 is only 3 miles west of Fowler, running north/south, while Interstate I-65 is located 15 miles to the east, near the County line. Take a look at a map of the area for a better view. The Kentland Airport and the facility located at the Purdue University offer easily accessible, excellent connections to North America and overseas. The Indianapolis Airport is 100 miles Southeast of Fowler, while O'Hare International Airport is 100 miles Northwest of Fowler.
RAIL Kankakee, Beaverville, & Southern Railroad operated freight service for Fowler and the surrounding area. It has connections to ICG, TPW, UP, CSXT, N&S, N&W, CONRAIL and are readily accessible to industrial areas.
TRANSPORT COMPANIES Trucking and transport companies for both short and long haul are available in the area, including Budreau Trucking and Williams Transport. There are also UPS and FED-EX pick up points here in town WATER SUPPLY Fowler has a town water supply system that includes two high capacity municipal wells and a water supply plant incorporating the latest in water treatment technology, all of which is regulated by the Water Department . A water storage facility (the tower) has been constructed to provide water by gravity for balancing pressures, fire protection, and an emergency reserve. This system has provided Fowler with a safe, reliable, independent, water supply now and in the future for industrial, commercial, and residential customers in or near town. Significant surplus water is available for industry locating in the area. Presently there are 200,000 gallons of water pumped per day. We have the capability to pump 1.2 million gallons per day. There is a fifty (50) pound maximum pressure.
SEWAGE TREATMENT Fowler Sewer Department provides sewage treatment for residents and industry with a modern, fully certified water pollution control plant. Presently we discharge approximately 300,000 gallons per day. Our plant has the capability of discharging 750,000 gallons per day. We are at 40% right now.
STREETS and ROADS
ELECTRICITY and NATURAL GAS Electric power and natural gas, which is available throughout the town limits, are provided by NIPSCO.
