March 19, 2008

SPECIAL MEETING

                        The Town Council of the Town of Fowler met at the Benton County Country Club, Fowler, Indiana, on the 19th day of March 2008 at the hour of 9:00 P.M., for a special meeting pursuant to call in accordance with the rules of the Council. The meeting was called to order by Gerry Parker, who presided. On call of the roll the members of the Council were shown to be present or absent as follows:

PRESENT: Linda Brouillette, John Berry & Gerald Parker

ABSENT: Carole Hoff & Thomas Sarault

            The meeting was called following an IACT Roundtable held at the Benton County Country Club.

            John Berry motioned to hire Rick Rothrock with the stipulation of being on probation for 90days at a rate of $14.62 per hour. The probation is subject to change to a lesser time frame contingent on superintendent and council approval. Linda Brouillette seconded the motion.

The motion passed.

            Gerry Parker motioned to approve submitting the Additional Appropriation for $160,000 from the General Clerk Fund for the Grant Avenue Storm Drainage Project. Linda Brouillette seconded the motion.

The motion passed.

            To fully fund the Debt Reserve Water Fund, John Berry motioned to transfer $43,955 from the Rainy Day Fund to the Debt Reserve Water Fund. Gerry Parker seconded the motion.

            After discussion concerning the mapping and planning of the utilities and storm drainage for Fowler, Linda Brouillette motioned to submit a grant for the study of water, sewer and storm drainage from K-IRPC. John Berry seconded the motion

The motion passed. K-IRPC will be asked to attend the April 7th meeting to submit the paperwork to begin the grant process. The grant is for $50,000 and the cost to the town will be $5,000.

            There being no further business presented to the meeting, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting thereupon adjourned.
