Fowler Zoning Board of Appeals
May 21, 2008
Meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm by President, Nancy Rainier.
Board members present: Pat Claire, Corey Robb, Jackie Bowman & Nancy Rainier. Todd Sammon, town attorney, was present at Gerry Parker’s request.
Also present were Karen Wirsching, Robert Wirsching, Susan Benner, Carole Hoff, Steve Rettig, Jim Dwenger, Linda Brouillette, Julie Hartman, Alan Leuck, Linda Brewer, Myrt Balensiefer, Gene Balensiefer, Tom Sarault, Gerald Parker, John Budreau and Shannon Benner.
Jim Dwenger presented his request for temporary use of his land, Prairie Meadows Subdivision, to allow RV parking for three years, to be used by the wind tower workers. The majority of those present were opposed to this, even though it would be temporary. It was suggested that owners of all the houses for sale and not selling, be contacted to see if they would be willing to rent to these wind tower workers.
Nancy made a motion to grant Jim Dwenger’s request. There was no second, so the request was denied.
Jim Dwenger requested a variance to have houses on lots 2,3,4,8 & 10 face 3rd Street in the Prairie Meadows Subdivision. Lots 5,6 & 7 would face NE Prairie Street, in front of them. Lot 9, where Bob & Karen Wirsching built, is facing 3rd Street. A variance was granted to them, when they built their house. It would look more symmetrical, if they all faced that direction.
Nancy made a motion, seconded by Jackie, that the variance be granted. Variance granted.
Ken Hofmeyer had planned to request a variance to have RV’s on his lots at the corner of 4th and Polk. After Jim Dwenger’s request was denied, he withdrew his request.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
Nancy Rainier, President
